Many thanks in advance

Kieron

Hi,
is there a owners manual/handbook specifically for ragtops, have a 61 convertable but never seen a manual/handbook, I do have a minor 1000 handbook that includes a section on raising/folding and stowing the hood. let me know if I have missed something.

What exactly do you mean by owners manual?

There is the "operation manual" and the "workshop manual" (normally covering all saloons, tourer and traveller.)

The "operation manual" later became the "drivers handbook" and fits in the glovebox and this would have come with the car. Both these manuals were revised at least once a year. The workshop manual has the relevant date on every page and the operation manual has a date on the bottom of the index page.
There were several versions of the drivers handbook finishing with the half white and green version? Introduced around 1964?

There is also the Morris Minor Owners Club technical manual together with a range of aftermarket handbooks and manuals.

It would be useful if anyone has a cross reference guide for operation manuals and dates, I will start the ball rolling and if anyone else thinks this is a good idea maybe we should start a new thread and if we can complete the list a sticky i.e:
Morris Minor Series MM
First Edition
Eighth Edition
Morris Minor Series II
First Edition
Second Edition 2/53
Sixth Edition 10/54
Eighth Edition 9/55
Ninth Edition
Morris Minor 1000
First Edition
Second Edition AKD 680
Third edition AKD680B
Fourth Edition AKD680C
Became "Drivers Handbook"
AKD680G 2/60
AkD680J
Became half white/green cover version

I would like something to keep a record of the services and repairs I carry out on my 65 saloon, is this what is meant by the owners manual?

No, the owners manual serves a similar function to the workshop manual but limits itself to basic operation and illustration of the vehicle controls, lubrication points, specifications and service periods etc.

Thanks for that, so was there or is there a service record book?

I don't know about an official one but years ago you could buy small books that had columns with heading such as speedo reading, pints of oil used, petrol cost and expenses etc. Not seen anything like this around today though.

There used to be service books which came new with every car. These were filled in every time the car went into the garage for it's annual service etc. Unfortunately most of these have been lost as the cars have changed ownership through the years.

If you want to keep a check on maintenance just but an A5 notebook and keep it in your glovebox.

Hello again ladies and gents, i hear that some of you are interested in a digital workshop manual......good news i have messing around with my settings on my google drive thing and managed to share it with you all, it is around 30mb and as such your pc will say it cannot be scanned as it is too big, just click download anyway, it has been pre-scanned before uploading there anyway

I've just checked and as suspected there is an un-deleted link on the other Minor site. They must have an agreement over copyright. :D
