Definately Can't Say I'm a Petrol Head At The Moment

I'm trying to fix a Carburettor problem on Gladys, March 1962, 4 door Moggie, Engine number 9MU-H596318. 948 cc
The stanchions of the lid of the float chamber have sheared so I need to find a new lid.

The Existing lid states. SU Carb AUC 8452, and PDC 1.

I don't think the carb is original.

I need to know where I can get a replacement lid, preferably a used part, and if there are any lids compatible with Auc 8452, PDC 1.

Also, I need to know excactly what type of float needle/shut off pin ( which controls fuel supply when the float goes up and down) I need.

I purchased a Float lid, numbered, AUC 8452, PDC 4 (FOUR), but the float needle configuration is different in that it seems narrower and has side apertures which let in the fuel. The new float needle and housing I purchased seperately a while back is wider and has no apertures, the fuel instead floods in from the bottom of the pin itself.

I have tried to swop the float needles around, but the float needle housing in lid AUC 8452 PDC 4 (FOUR), refuses to come out.

It must be that I have got the wrong configuration somewhere and I am desperate for any help.

Thank you for reading.
My best wishes

you say you have a replacement lid that has a different needle and seat arrangement? does the 'lid' still fit your carb? if this lid fits, but has a different needle and seat arrangement, can you not just use this lid with this different valving? or is this worn on your replacement lid too.

Google Burlen fuel services for a better description of the part you want. Might have one here but the part number doesn't ring any bells. Can you get a pic?
