Does any body know if the post 63 water pump will replace the series II water pump, and what's different about it ?
Many Thanks

My parts catalogue only lists one type so guessing there is no difference. Recently changed the water pump on midget 1275, this pump had a much deeper propeller so could not use the spare 1098 one I had lying in the shed.

Just had a look on DSN classics site http://www.dsnclassics.co.uk/acatalog/D ... ion_7.html
they list two types - late 948/1098 & early 948 (small impellor)

No they are not interchangeable. Completely different shape and size of mating surfaces and bolts.

Series II pumps are available new, I just stuck one on mine (from ESM). It fits and works perfectly and looks exactly like the original. I had to swap the grease nipple over and make my own gasket though (can be bought for £1.50 but thought I had one.) I kept the old pump and I believe there is someone in the West Midlands who reconditions them.

And before anyone asks, the Series MM water pump is nothing like any A Series pumps
