I'm not a fan of inertia reel belts. I know that on one of my MGBs I fitted some static belts. These
had metal buckles with a push in fit and lifting a metal flap to release (not the curved hook system)
that was originally fitted to my minor (belts frayed and MOT failure). These have a soft strap on the
transmission tunnel side not h hard wire type. Are the static belts available for the Minor? If so,
where from? I seem to remember that these belts were more expensive than the inertias but I liked
the fit/feel

Minor parts suppliers such as DSN, East Sussex Minors (ESM), Bull Motif, Birmingham Morris Minor Centre all sell static seat belts.

These are manufactured in the UK by QuickfitSBS. They can make any colour and style you like, static or inertia. I quite like the lower LH car solution here:

Yes LouiseM they do. Anyone interested can give them a call or email, they have always been extremely helpful to me (even though I haven't actually bought a belt!) regarding installations for other classic cars and I have had good reports from others who have used their belts.

They are usually at all the major shows.

Neil, thanks, those are the ones I had. Great fit and very secure metal clips. I've sent an e-mail enquiry.
I'm guessing a bit pricey these days. It must be 6-7 years since I got the last pair and they were £80 then. Still, can't scrimp on safety and they were very good.

Is it relatively easy to fit seatbelts in the back? I'm looking at getting some static belts as poor Big Neg has to slide about all over the back seat at the moment! Not too much fun, especially when he hadn't closed the door properly one time & it lew open whilst on a dual carriageway!

they are nice belts but I'm pondering about the £75 per corner (+VAT and delivery..) as that's twice the price of a set of more standard red belts.

I have no idea what i will get when i get static seatbelts, so i have no idea how they are fitted, that was what i wanted to know.

Post in the Wanted section i.e. " help +pictures with fitting static seat belts." Sorry I can't help as I always fit inertia reel to my cars. Personal choice - I don't like statics.
