Apologies if this is a subject that comes up repeatedly, but I am currently filling in a 'Vehicle Condition Form' for my insurance and they want to have an 'estimated value of vehicle' and I have no real idea what its worth.
Its a 1969 Traveler in A1 / A2 condition, a good every day runner with good wood and very little rust that I bought in 2009 for £3100 (pictures below). I have since cleaned it up a bit, put in seat belts and maintained it well - but havent invested major money.
What do the experts here on the MMOC think I ought to insure it for ?
If you contact your local branch someone nearby should be able to come and value it for you as you may need an official valuation for the insurance co. If not base it on what you paid and have spent, so yes around 4 5k
i'd agree with around 4-5k.
A proper valuation is worth having if the car is good. Self certification values can be challenged.
Most of mine have been scabby so I never worried much - although I took a lot of care when i had a 911 as it was valuable.
Make double sure all the modifications are identified - in written form and with photographs. That way there'll not be any come back if the worst happens and you need to claim.
