Low mileage for first time in 45 years!

Post by neilchadburn »

Oh yes a stunning day yesterday in the North Devon sunshine, Wilson ticked around the clock, the mileage going from the dizzy heights of 99,999.9 to 00000.0 on the A361 near South Molton, the kids loved it, a rare old sight for them to relish. The first time that he has been in single figures since 1966, what was lovely about it was the excitement from my two girls aged 6 and 8! The speedo was captured in a photo with the needle nicely out of the way of the digits for the moment, he was pushed up to 70mph+ !

A bbq and picnic by a beautiful stream on Exmoor was the venue for a top day out with friends and family.....simple pleasures :D

Do you have paperwork to support that statement?
Mines a 68 and it's been "low mileage" at least once, and probably twice since then.

Better than that spoke to the spinster who bought him from new, she is a lovely old lady, she told me those little gems that let you really know the heart and soul of the car.
She told me the mileage when she sold it, I then tracked down the 2nd owner after a letter to DVLA, I wrote to him, he rang me and confirmed he had bought it from an old lady in Winchester, he also confirmed the mileage when he purchased it, he kept it in Honiton Devon until selling it to Minor Miracles of Devon.....he also apologised for having burnt all the paperwork two days before I wrote to him :( thinking a dealer wouldn't really need it.

It's nice to know the provenance, and having spoken to the original owner who described herself as very upset at having let the car go, it was nice to tell her he was in good hands! :D
