car not starting/sparking. i just changed the condenser. no joy. the points look a bit worn down. next step is to change those. anything else i can test and try for? i have a multimeter to check resistance etc.
i took a look at the plugs. this plug is second from the front of the car. would this stop a good start? plugs fouled? this is the only one i pulled, it's not oily, just sooty. i have this little retro cleaning machine that has sand in it or something to blast plugs clean. should i be worried about this sort of plug, should it still fire up ok?
too much soot, mixture too rich? however i thought it was pretty lean when adjusting the carb and counting the flats. unless the needle is worn giving too rich a mixture? or could it not be sparking well enough due to poor battery charge, poor points? [frame]
