600 Mile Morris Minor rescued

Hi All,

I'll admit i'm a newbie to this forum and was referred by a member of another site I use for I may have something of interest to members. I used to own 2 Morris Minors but now have an MGB GT.

Ok, my father and I are interested in classics and have had quite a few in our time. Now a lady contacted us regarding clearing a barn with cars in that belonged to her late husband, whom used to own the local Morris. and later Vauxhall Dealership. She wants the cars gotten rid of so she could stop paying for the rented shed.

The car below is a 1998/69 Morris Minor 1000 that we recovered with a very interesting history. It was supplied new by her late husbands dealership to a local vet practice and after only a few months it was crashed as can be seen. Apparently it clipped a wall and rolled into another wall on the drivers side. It went back to the dealership for a re-shell that never happened and was placed in this shed in 1971 where it had sat ever since. The son has told us that the car had only done 600 miles or so when this happened.

As you can see the interior is dusty but would clean up well and apart from the missing windscreen the car is more or less complete. After the pictures were taken the tyres were inflated and hold air! The engine is not siezed and the car freewheels fine.

We were going to break the car for spares but it was suggested to me that someone on here might like to save it or use it as a project for a convertible so if thats the case we'd rather see it go to a good home. I will also place it in the for sale section in case its not meant to be here.

If anyone is interested please pm me or email theflyingwelshman22@hotmail.com

If that was bought local to where it is now, then it's in Pembrokeshire somewhere, near me... that's a Pembrokeshire plate, isn't it?

Picture of the speedo showing 600 miles would be encouraging...... Great project for whoever bought that 'new' shell that was on ebay a few months ago!

Absolutely, that is crying out for a re-shell, no amount of Porta Power and filler would make it right.
Deffo it won't polish out :D .

Hi there Ondergard. Yes you're correct! The car was found in Haverfordwest and currently is near Fishguard. If you, or anyone you know is interested in it please let me know. Do you do the Pembs Country Run every September?
