indicator switch.

when indicating left works fine. right it now has to be held down for the lights to flash. all lights work fine also the little green bulb. but for this fault. your thoughts please 
It could be that the self cancelling stud on the steering column is not in the correct position.
Remove the steering wheel and plastic cover, replace the wheel and check the operation.
