Looks fantastic in the advert, as most things do!
Great if you have a good eye and a steady hand I guess.
Even in the advert some things are described as "possible".

I'd wait for a cheap Chinese copy given the eye watering price.

Thanks for the link..... There is a much cheaper but less powerful and slower revving Bosch version. I'm being 'pressurised' to lay a wood floor in our hallway. There are 5 doorways and many turns and twists of skirting board and door frames - and this machine promises to be able to undercut these to allow the floor to be laid under without removal - but I have far from a steady hand........

Also now found the Tooltec Multicutter..from Netto. We don't get Netto in Scotland - has anyone used these Tooltec/Netto 'bargain' tools??

would you be able to fabricate some sort of rest? if you're aiming to get a line parallel to the top of the skirting board, you could have an arm (or even a wheel on an arm) to keep you the right distance away constantly?

The Youtube demo shows them doing precisely the job I need to do -simply sliding the saw along on top of a piece of the flooring as a guide to undercut a door frame. Looks GREAT - but can a hamfisted amateur joiner like me do this ?? I wasn't even allowed to do woodwork at skool - had to take Latin instead - thats been REALLY useful to me..............

Roy I have the Bosch one, I love it, it come with 2 blades really easy to use and I can cut long straight lines now where using a jigsaw I could never do straight cuts.

have you tried your local tool hire shop, possibly they have something suitable, and may be more cost effective?

I think you mean squander money, doubt Roy will be interested in that.
Hire shop is an excellent idea, they should have a tool just for the job he wants to do. Much better than any "Jack of all trades" tool.

Thanks lads - bought the Bosch one today - 15% off at Homebase.. Could maybe have saved a bit by buying online - but the floor has to at least to be started tomorrow...........or else!
