Australian version of Derrington alloy head. It would be interesting to compare them. Unfortunately I do not have that much spare cash, particularly after my seat reupholstery.

And then you will have to pay a machine shop to finish the rough casting to whatever the original spec was.

Unfortunately not as good as an Alta or Mazengarb head though.

Currently in negotiations with a pattern maker in the UK to get copies of the Derrington head made.

That's going to cost you a bit Rob.

Hence "negotiations"! Not as bad as expected since I discovered a retired pattern maker with a love of Morris Minors. :D

Thats very fortunate :D he doesn't happen to be in the Swansea region as an old pal of mine in that area was a pattern maker.

No, he is down in Kent. He's retired, very rich and enjoys taking on 'interesting' jobs to keep his skills up. The first head would work out at circa £1500 for a cast head but without machining but each following one would be 1/10 of that. A cast iron copy of the standard head but with Derrington shaped chambers.
I'd need to sell a dozen at a sensible (£350-ish) price to make it worthwhile, so, it may not work out.

I picked up an A-series Minnow-Fish carb and manifold this week. You haven't got that on your website, have you?

Yes Kevin that is correct,
however the Alta or Mazengarb are a full over head valve conversion,
rather than a "sports" head. I will agree with you.

There is also quite a bit of difference in cost, if you could get an Alta or Mazengarb.

Put them on the rarer than hens teeth list.

No I haven't as I have had a little confusion in that direction and have tried to get a little clarification, it appears that the Minnow-Fish is the original and the Reece-Fish is a copy with a different shape, can you shed any light Rob.

Mr Fish sold 'exclusive rights' to both Reece and to Minnow who both went on to develop the product their own way. Lots of unfriendly action between the parties, no doubt. The Reece has a float bowl that can pivot to allow side or updraught whilst the Minnow has fewer moving parts to contend with.
Neither needs anything changed over to make it work since you can get infinite adjustment via twidling bits on it. Saves a few quid on needles and jets if you are f4rting about with oddball engines.

Did you want any pics?
