i wondered which is a better gearbox out of the midget 5 speed or marina 5 speed

the 5 speed that came out of that midget was a ford one.

it's generally accepted you can only really fit a ford 5 speed or a toyota 5 speed. never come accross a toyota conversion myself. ford seems to easiest 'off the shelf' way to go about it.

I've had both and the Toyota box is superior in many ways. But yes, the Ford conversion parts are available off the shelf or sometimes second hand.
