Re: Fuel Prices
I doubt he will do any more than not increase it by 1p a litre which is on the cards at the moment.
And herald it as being good to hard pressed motorists.

Re: Fuel Prices
tbf what can you do..... labour promised that increase, then borrowed againt it to spend more money they didnt have now, the only reason he can consider scrapping it is becuase the job seekers book is smaller than first feared.
rule 101 is dont spend more than you can afford. if people had listened to that we wouldnt be in this mess now, pure and simple..... then it wouldnt be the nasty tories having to cut everything... it'd just be sensible prudence.

Re: Fuel Prices
You are right. I think that had Labour got in they would have had to make much the same cuts. - The cupboard is bare!phurn wrote:tbf what can you do..... labour promised that increase, then borrowed againt it to spend more money they didnt have now, the only reason he can consider scrapping it is becuase the job seekers book is smaller than first feared.

Re: Fuel Prices
yep, and still doing it now, ed balls ad yvette cooper claimed 13,000 for travel for thier children! sicme theyre married they can claim twice... once each, nice to see that labour have learned thier lesson eh?
and dont forget the general elctions were forever ago now and we still havent heard a single red ed policy! other than the doesnt like those posh tories! (despite hague being the only person in either cabinet to have been state educated, and thatcher, as far as im aware, being the only state educated pm for some 40+ years.)

Re: Fuel Prices
I didn't think we could discuss politics on this forum but I suppose as both sides are getting slagged off then it is OK.

Re: Fuel Prices
the mess this country is in was caused by Labour, the Tories are seen as the bad guys now cos they have to try an get us back in a decent financial state. Lets get BNP in and really sort the country out
