Hi,just bought clear plastic for my moggies rear window,cost £40 including vat and delivery,this was for 1350mm x 100mm,rear window needs only approx 82mm x 32mm so there is a load over for another few windows,can be bought from Allplas ltd or from there ebay site, dont know what glue to use? but nothing ventured nothing gained,Cheers,Brian

How do you plan to cut and shape it or is it already done?
Any idea what sort of glue was used originally?

Hi,I cut out the old window and laid it out on the plastic,added an extra margin and cut out with scissors and I will try super glue,not fitted yet as the weather is either to wet or to cold,and the garage is chock a block,cheers,Brian

Surely super glue is too thin for this application?
I'd suggest something with more "body" to it, see if you can work out what was used originally.

Yes super glue also turns plastic white around where it is applied.

Hi,the glue will only touch where it binds to the vinyl cover,so there's no problem there,cheers,Brian

The superglue will almst certainly cause vapour 'smoke' on the plastic in the visible areas. On my vinyl hood the rear window appears to be heat-sealed into place. Perhaps a silicon type glue would be more appropriate?

[frame][/frame][frame][/frame] Hi,The sun is out and I have finished the rear window,and adjusted the tappets.[frame][/frame] The picture of the rear window is when the glue is setting( evo stik,serious glue,waterproof and transparent)there is cellotape round the edges to assist in holding the plastic and a bit of padding in side to stop it sagging,cheers ,Brian

There is a lot of slack in that hood. I wonder, did the window fail because the rear section of the hood was loose and flapping at speed? There should be no give in it at all when fully closed like that.

Hi,I have slackened off the back to clean up edge under back of hood,looks ok when fastened back down ,but this is only temporary,untill I can replace with a new hood in the warmer weather
