Im into mountain biking and was just wondering if it is possible to fit a bike rack on to the back of my moggy?
Has anyone done it before and if they have how did they do. My dad did have an idea of using the rear bumper and adapting the mountaing brackets.
Is it possible?

Hi.
I've not done it myself, but I have seen bike racks which for on tow bars.
I'd fit a tow bar and buy one of the aforementioned type.
That way, you can put a light bar on the rack too (if you don't just fit a tow ball) very easily.

A cheap Halfords brand rack but totally secure (I'm a bike nut as well) and the bike is not resting on the car at all.

Thanks for the help. Peetee, I think my dad has the same bike rack as the one you have, so I think I will have a go at fitting it.
Yay this means no more using my dads car to get me places.

I have to add that to be legal you would need and numberplate and light board if you were to set the bike up as I have done.

Do I still need the light board if i can see the lights through the wheels? And the number plates clear from the bike anyway.

All lights and the numberplate have to be visible so you will have to use our judgement. I see so many vehicles flouting the rules anyway I can't see it's on plod's 'ave 'im' list.
