Hi,can a 1098cc su carb replace a 948cc one ,cheers,Brian
They both use the same HS2 carb except the early 948 - H2.
To be strictly accurate the 948 uses an M needle and the 1098 an AN.

The 948 never had the H1 carb !

You want the later HS2 carb - with the brass tube on the side to take the fumes away from the rocker cover. Earlier cars had the H2 carb.
