Morris Minor Owners Club

Hello all, does anybody know of any front inertia seatbelts from a more modern machine that will fit to the morris minors b pillar top and bottom anchorage points? Most modern cars I look at seem to require 2 mounting points at the bottom as well as the mounting at the top of the pillar??? Just want to know what to look out for at my local scrapyard? Is it simply a case of making another hole to mount the actual inertia reel to? Any help would be greatfully received. cheers

when choosing you locating for the reel anchorage, it's best to go for somewhere that you know to be strong. on my minor i mounted the reels on at the bottom of the b-pillar, sitting just on top of the inner sill box section thing. it was a bit fiddly mind you. people often bolt them right to the inner sill box section thing, as access to get a nut on the back can be done via removing the kick plates and reaching through the cut-outs.

i would be wary of getting second hand seatbelts, you wouldn't know if the vehicle had been in a crash (in which case the belts could have stretched). I fitted new ones, which aren't too expensive. you can't put a price on a life.
