Can you help identify this A series cylinder head. It is red, has take off for heater, by-pass hose, usual number of stud holes.
Embossed below the rocker conver is:
2A3
AF1
AS3

on an embossed tag it says 10.12.4 (I think)
No other markings I can see.
Is this the long desired 1098 more breathable head... or something else...

If it does turn out to be useful what mild cam, carb needle LCB do you recomend for slightly enhanced road use?
Thanks Moggiegeek

i can see '23B' on your head declan. i'm guessing that's the area moggiegeek is looking.

moggiegeek, the better breathing 1098 head you refer to is marked, where declans picture points to, as 12G295. The other type of 1098 head is what was standard on 1098 minors, and marked 12G202.

Or the quite rare 12G206 This sounds like none of these - what size are the valve heads ?
