? advice sought: book about British cars of '50s and '60s

Before I got my Moggie last April I bought a few books about this car and I was very happy to have all the information before the purchase. But in the meantime my interest has extended to other British cars of the 1950s and 1960s, although I am not planning to buy any more. But I am now looking for titles of books which tell the story of British passenger cars of the period of my Minor.
I have some volumes of the old "observer's books" about steam locomotives. Ideally the book about British cars should contain the same information, i.e. technical data and one or more pictures.
Can anyone recommend me such books? The titles should still be available, so that I can order them from Germany via amazon or similar companies.
Thank you for all your help.
Best regards
Hubert

Try Pooks Motor Books for a selection. The Morris Minor is probably one of the most comprehensively covered.
There is a list of Series MM and other Minor related books on the Series MM website,

I can recommend the Olyslager Auto Library "British Cars of the Early Fifties 1950-1954" and "British Cars of the Late Fifties 1955-1959". They give a brief year by year account of new models for each British motor manufacturer. They are car spotter's books really. There are similar books in the series which deal with the thirties and forties in the same way. I've had my copies for over thirty years but you can still get them on Amazon.

I didn't realise you could still get these, I'll have to have a look on Amazon, 'cos the late Thirties one is the one I don't have.

Hi,
My two favourite books I was given in the 1980s,
The first is a similar title to the one reccomended,"British Family Cars of the 1950s" by Michael Allen ISBN 0-85429-471-6
it is full of photos and specifications
The second is "The Cars of BMC" by Graham Robson ISBN 0-947981-14-4, It has comprehensive details of the cars produced by the British Motor Corporation which included Austin, Morris,MG,Austin Healey, Vanden Plas, Riley and Wolseley. Follows production from the 1950s till the 1970s, if you like lots of photos and details such as fuel consumption, length of cars etc, then this book is for you! I like the way you can see the change of car styling from the round 1950s to the "Farina" more boxy cars with fins to the 1970s square Allegro.
Try Amazon, Ebay, ABE books as both are out of print.
