Hi. Out on the car now, hilka grease gun.

Jacked her up on lower suspension arm

Pressed onto upper trunnion nipple, grease splurging out of sides, is the nipple too small for the grease gun attachment? Doesn't have any size on it. The three metal teeth aren't gripping it! Please help.

Just needed pressing on.

The grease gun is slow and small. Do you recommend a better on. Doesn't even spring back.
What's the procedure with the plunger and tab?

I got chocolate grease out of the upper bit but it has stopped coming out.

How many squirts of a small grease gun should do the upper trunnion?

Should it take one small cartridge to do one side?

Should I keepgoing until the chocolate turns to caramel from the joint?

Can someone pm me a link to better grease gun on eBay?

The only thing I can think of is you've got blocked nipples!

The nopple isn't blocked it wouldn't be coming out of the joint.

Am I supposed to keep pumping until you see fresh grease come out or brown? Please. This is hurting my hand. Just started seeing some caramel geese among the brown. Sorry for spelling on phone.

keep pumping until you have clean grease coming out.. especially as this is the first time you have done it on your car and you do not know how old the grease in the uprights are.

i find twisting down and pulling at the same time gets the grease gun off the nipple quicker / easier.. as opposed to just pulling the gun straight back off the nipple

Hi Charlie. Just twenty squirts on bottom trun and its beading out. Do you do it until you see traces of new grease or completely new grease caramel colour?

I pushed the plunger in and got more grease out thought it had ran out. Can anyone explain the plunger? Still brown Grease coming out.

I tapped the nozzle off nipple with hammer and chisel. The top joint nipple seems to pivot and it's. In the down position. Can anyone explain this? Want it midway.

Still pumping. Grease is a lot lighter now. But looks mixed with old.

Don't over do it - little and often is the way to go. Don't forget the prop shaft and the handbrake cables....... And smear some of the left-over grease on the exposed handbrake cables where the outer cover stops - and the inner connects to the levers on the rear cylinders.

Does anyone recommend a better grease gun, are the bigger ones faster/more powerful/push more grease in at once?/require less strokes?

When the cartridge ran out the plunger went rock hard, can anyone explain the plunger?

PS the crud caked on some of these nipples. Yuk lol.

Some use a piece of thin cotton rag on the nipple for better grip.

1) Classic grease guns come up on eBay I bought a Wanner aluminium grease gun.

2) My obvious question now is what type of grease do I buy to fill it? Does grease come in smaller cartridges, as the guns reservoir isn't as big as a silicon or decorators caulk cartridge that my local motor factor sells, or do I just get a tin and scoop it into the gun by hand? Any guidance on the grease to buy so I can do my own grease up would be appreciated. :D

Just get a general purpose lithium grease. Tubs/tins of grease normally have a round plastic piston-like thing in them with a hole in the middle. You take the end cap off the grease gun and push the tube down onto the piston to inject the grease into the gun.

I generally pull up on the plunger while pushing the body down, it helps draw the grease into the gun.
