jumps out of 3rd

Hi all
A while ago I asked for ideas to help solve my problem, the box is now stripped down.
Checked ideas given, all ok but, there are 2 areas I need further advice.
The box was rebuilt by me using 2 old boxes.
There is approx 3mm of end float in the 3/4 gear synchronizer, when assembled.
The 3/4 gear synchronizer fitted is a 22G95, the one in my spares box is 22G409, the difference being a grove in the selector to retain it in gear. Hope you can see the difference in the photos.
Could this be my problem? Or do I need to look further.

Hard to tell - but the selector in the foreground looks very badly 'chewed'. Can you try to get some better pictures - with good focus/no glare.

Hi
Hope these photos are better, the tips of the teeth look uniform in shape, not ragged.

this one was fitted, the previous one is out of my spares box.
Does it need fixing with a new one, if you can get one?[frame]

They look a bit worn - but how do they compare with the 4th gear side of the hub ? And - how do the dog-teeth look on 3rd gear ?

Both the 3rd and 4th gear are in much better condition than the hub, have I just answered my own question?, how much for a new one and where from, can you just buy the outer ring
Just noticed it is the 4th gear side of the hub I took a picture of.

Hi
Now I have built it up again, using best parts, noticed main shaft gears and lay shaft gears are approx 1mm out of line.
The 1st motion shaft gear and the lay shaft gear line up, it looks like the main shaft and gears are the problem, I have compared main shaft, gears, bearing, and brass bushes and spacer for wear, with a spare one, and they look both the same.
Any comments welcome.
I am thinking about fitting a 1mm spacer between main shaft rear bearing, and 1st gear hub, building it up and rechecking with all selectors fitted.

Picture of a gold-seal box I have - confirms the laygear should be in line....

Has the rear plate been tapped back into the gearbox casing properly?
I had a similar problem but it was because I hadnt tapped it in all the way

Hi All
The gearbox is now built up, with a 1mm spacer behind the output bearing and end cover.
It is now back in the car and it does not jump out of any gears. WOW, not bad to say it was built up from the parts from 2 gearboxes.
I have allso done the "conversion" to retain the 803 tail end, and pudding stirrer gear lever.
Thanks to all for the input, and regards Win.
I can now move onto the next problem.

What metal did you use for the spacer?

cut a piece off the end of a spare main shaft extension tube, only had to saw 2 off before I cut one straight
