Caveat Emptor...

Post by Ondergard »

... anyone who can use BBC iPlayer would be advised to look at tonight's BBC Wales's programme "X Ray" if possible, especially if they live in South Wales. It's the last item on the programme.

Woman paid 4.5 K for a rough restoration, timline was 6 to eight weeks,Paid upfront in 3 bits, waited over a year, poor condition, dodgy welding and brakes so it wouldn't pass an MOT. In the garages defence they were a VW beetle specialist so probably had little experience of Moggs.

Apparently when she went to inspect they were restoring a convertible - so he should have known how. For £4,500 she could have bought another car! :o

Well you don't need to be a Club member to benefit from the knowledge / experience on this site and if you need restoration advice you only have to ask. For Club members there is useful advice with regards to professional restorations contained within every issue of Minor Matters on the Club Services page. I've also now posted the information here as a 'sticky'.

Rather bizarre that the specialist they interviewed seemed to think that the tax exemption cutoff is still 25 years.
Anyone notice the charging light illuminated as the presenter was driving along in the green Minor too?

I did :D There's plenty of room in our branch for more members. Up to 20 last night. If we keep going like this we will have to look at another venue 8)
