Bike Carrier

Post by simmitc »

Hi, has anyone fitted a bike carrier to a Traveller with a towbar? Just looking for a recommendation for something suitable for carrying two bikes. Thanks.

Hi
Here is my home made bracket, its just 2 pieces of box section, welded to flat bar, with holes. It fits under bolt heads, and on the outside of the tow ball.
The rack itself is just box section with top rail, to suit bikes.
Sorry I cant find the rack at the moment, the fairies appear to have hidden it.

Yes - well, to my saloon - can't see why it wouldn't work for a traveller though, even though you do have a verticle back-end and the french windows. I have a bike rack which hitches onto the tow ball, as opposed to a bracket mounted behind the towbar as some do. The only thing I imagine you'd have a problem with is opening the back doors with it mounted - as even though you can tilt it down, it probably wouldn't clear the swing of the doors.

It's made by Thule - an older version of something like this http://www.thule.com/en-GB/GB/Products/ ... 20941.aspx
