Sound Deadening

Post by d_harris »

I've had a little idea. I've noticed that the local pounds shop has a large stock of rubber car mats in at the moment. I reckon that a number of them glued over the floor (but under the carpet) and around the trasmission tunnel (and up the bulkead) might make quite a good sound deadening arrangement.

What do we reckon??

It would deaden sound transmissions, but would probably be a nice hiding place for moisture and the subsequent corrosion if not kept in check.

Take into consideration the extra weight as well. Rubber mats are heavy. Personally I can't stand the smell either.
But some people are "into" rubber

Thats a good point, I hadn't considered the weight. With the plan I had moisture shouldn't be too much of a problem. The weight is probabally enough to disuade me anyway
