rear seat base

i am in the process of making a new set of covers for my traveller ..

the problem i have is that taking the base apart i see that the wire mesh / chain male that sits on top of the springs has seriously distorted over the tunnel
. Is it possible to tighten the wire mesh or buy some new?

Neat! That's a very nice job you've done!
I'm afraid I don't know offhand, but I'm sure the mesh could be manipulated back into proper shape. It's just wire, after all.

for mine, we got a piece of foam the same shape as the top, but only about 30mm thick. this we then put on top on the springs. the wire shaping was then bent to about the right shape, and a piece os hessian sewn on the bottom to keep it contained. when in situ, it sit right, and distorts to the shape it should

thanks for the reply.
i had another look today and found that the back part of the frame was distorted. by the time i bent it back straight it had removed most of the "sagging". As you suggest Mat by the time i put new foam and hessian on I do not think i will see anything ( fingers crossed any way )
