ital 1275 engine

i have recently purchased a 1275 ital. which i will be putting onto the 1098 gearbox. i was just wondering in reality what should i expect from this engine, how much faster is it than the 1098

depends how its set up and what exausht and carb, what cam etc etc, when i changed mine for a 1310cc there was a huge diffrance

Depends really - some 1275 engines had very soft camshafts and were only rated at 50 bhp - and the 1098 is 48 bhp....... . It should have more 'lugging' capability though! A few simple changes to head/cam/manifolds/carb/exhaust system can make a huge difference!
