Shame the boot handle is upside down...
if it's had $45k spent, god knows how much they're expecting to get for it! It's not met its reserve at $8k, the reserve could be $50k, could be $100k, i think they're very ambitious.

It's very very nice, but no pictures of the underside, it could be all tin cans riveted over rust and covered in underseal for all we know. I doubt it though or $45k bought some expensive cans.
I'd value it at over £4k.

Cheers John - all comments IMHO

I'd use it every day! You've always got the photos to look back at! The interior colour is stunning. I've never seen one like it and i've seen the 2 minors at the haynes museum!

That could be awkward to drive. I do hope the pedals are on the wrong side too.

See, it appears to me that the steering wheel and the pedals are all on the CORRECT side. But, it's true they're not on the RIGHT side.
Chris, are you quite sure the boot handle is upside down? That's how my boot handle is.
I daresay it's been very well done. When we Americans go at restoring a car, we do it right...sometimes we go a little overboard.

Re: best in the world ??
i admit i've seen a fair few that way up. i dont know if that was a production variation, or if somebody sold a different batch at some point. or if lots of people take their handles apart and forget which way up it goes! all of ours have the handle with the staight bit above the lock, and it's very natural to hold and open... who knows. maybe all of ours are wrong

Yup, it does look too nice to use & I'd probably fall out with passengers for having dirty shoes or not keeping still.

The boot handle is deffinately upside down and I agree with you about americans and restoration. The best hotrods, customs and restos always seem to be in America. And I love how every single car, be it American or English, must have a V8! It must be law over there!Fingolfin wrote:See, it appears to me

Love that colour. I'm sure they'd put the pinstripe on and turn the boot-lid handle the right way up, oh yes and throw in a spare wheel for that money. The steering wheel is well placed for those continental trips.

You'd be surprised, hotrodder...it's not actually all that wonderful. In fact, some of the giant lumbering leviathans that they call pickups around here are downright annoying, particularly when one is just walking home from a mind-dulling class!
I'm keeping my Moggie original, just so you know. No big-block Chevy 350 in there for me. And I'll fix the boot handle.
