Hello all
I have a 1970 morris traveller and every time i start it there is tiny splatters of oil from the back of the exhaust. Just wondering does anyone know what causes this and how to stop it? The car sounds and drives ok.

i doubt it's oil...
more likely unburned carbonised fuel.
either you're running it on too much choke, or the mixture control needs adjusting. (see your owners' handbook)
Once you've done that, it might be worth cleaning the carb, but i'd be tempted to solve the problem and let it get on with it. don't know what anyone else would suggest?

Consider fitting an extension to the tailpipe - the exhaust systems are a bit short on the Traveller. Also minimise use of the choke - and push it in as soon as possible. Is the exhaust 'smoky' in any way? Does the engine use any significant oil ?
