Rubbing Compound and Lacquer

Hi, I would appreciate your views.

I've just finished spraying the inside dash area in Trafalgar Blue, using BM spray cans, with a lot of rubbing down and coats!
I'm actually pleased with how its come up, but I want it to really shine. is it now a case of just using rubbing compound and 2 coats of Lacquer? Also how long should I leave it to dry before using the rubbing compound?

Hello BM,

leave it a week or so then compound. Forget the laquer, why complicate things?

A week!? Wow, i thought it would be a max of 24 hours! Ok will do. But why no lacquer?

Yes - it needs at least a week - maybe two in this weather. Lacquer if you wish - but can't see the point myself and will just make any future repairs/touching up more difficult.

Hello BM,

perhaps you are thinking that laquer will give a better shine? You would still need to compound the laquer for a good gloss, which can be achieved by compounding the colour coat. as I said why complicate it?
