Need a new welder

As the title says really, I need something powerfull enough to weld the chassis sections on a Morris Minor yet gentle enough for the wings etc.

I want/need to spend as little as possible, but no more than £250 please.

I want it to be a mig as well please.

Recomendations, or is my wish list impossible?

Thanks.

Hello Jared,

you should be able to get what you want, the chassis sections are light so don't require a lot of power.

I suggest that you have a look at the posts here :- http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/
There have been a lot of posts similar to yours and there is a wealth of welding specific information there.

Yes look at the above mentioned excellent site. They will give you two pieces of excellent advice:-

1) Whatever you do DONT BUY A GASSLESS WELDER- you will regret it. Get a proper gas mig.

2) The best value/ quality/ reliable budget welders available are without doubt the Clarke series of welders. Buy the best one (widest range of power) you can afford. A Clarke 90 will just about do what you want but a 150 TE is a nicer machine. Again, make sure you only buy a gas mig welder NOT a gasless one.
