Ive owned Split VW's for years and buying this for my girlfriend. Looks very clean for its year, with the usual rust bubbles on the wings and door bottoms but not serious.

Is there anything else of huge importance I should be looking for, as in chassis etc etc? Im told by the owner that he's the third owner and is very relliable. Comes with one years MOT and Tax.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.............

RUST is the enemy - especially if hidden by layers of underseal....... There is no chassis as such - but there are plenty of rust traps. The suspension crossmember under the front seats is liable to rot over the years - and is a relatively major undertaking to renew. A really good poke about underneath is essential.

WOW, thanks for the quick reply, and pointing out the crossmember. Obvious rust traps I was confident where to look but will check thoroughly under the seating. Notice you're from Scotland, im from Fort William but now penetrating the English defences
