Here is my latest project.
Nearly finished just a bridle to fit, paint in the features and touch up the paint where I've filled the screw holes on the hooves.
Painted in two coats of acrylic primer and several top coats!!

It's Felicity's Filly she's my 18 month old granddaughter.
I bought the plans on the web and cut it out of 18mm ply. I routed all the edges to give the even round edges and did quite a lot of sanding. Then my son who sprays furniture for a living painted it in 1K acrylic which dries to a good gloss even in the cold and gives a very hard finish.

I'm amazed the difference in character achieved by adding the finishing details.[frame]

Not to distract from a good job but I hope you used child friendly paint as years ago we had a cot for our first child in a dark wood finish and painted it white for our second who decided to cut his teeth on it and took all the paint off the top rails
