I have a two door 1966 Morris Minor and a 1970 Traveller. I was just wondering if it is normal for the traveller to sound louder when you drive it.

Thanks,
Evan

All Estate cars always sound louder as the back is open

Add the rattles and bangs from the bodywork and it is a lot noisier
My Traveller is certainly noisier than my MM, aside from the smooth running side valve compared to the harsh 1275 A Series, the MM's body seems to have a lot more refinement with the doors and bonnet closing with a clunk compared to the Traveller's metalic clang.

harsh 1275 A Series
Interesting comment...I've always thought that the 1275 in our convertible has a harsh sound, from what you say Mike, this is quite usual?

The harshness of the engine probably has something to do with the twin carbs and pancake filters. The noisy diff does not help.
