12V electric cars - any good?

thinking of getting my boy a hummer version, are these any good? anybody bought one? (i was looking a the electric scooter but they need to be 8+)

We've got a little 6v quad for my 4yr old daughter, its too slow, so I put in a spare 12v motorcycle battery, it can shift now!
