There is a 1500 midget engine on ebay at the moment, what I would like to know would this fit straight into the morris and if so what alterations would I need to do prop shaft, gearbox tunnel, clutch linkage, exhaust etc and what benefits would I have over the 1098 fitted at the moment. There is only a day left on the engine so any advice would be grateful so I can make my mind up. Thanks

not straight forward. a Midget 1275 would be a lot easier. the 1500 is a different kettle of fish. does it come with a gearbox? that would be a start, otherwise you'd have to source a box that'd fit too.

As above, the 1275 drops right in, the 1500 is very heavy and awkward to fit, for very little gain in horsepower.
Much better engines choices out there for the same, or less, effort than fitting a 1500.

Just because it is a Midget engine does not mean that it bears any resemblence to a 1275 engine. It is of course a Triumph engine shoehorned into a Midget. There was not even room to fit the Spitfire overdrive unit, or at least the anti MG - pro Triumph management chose not to.
