Pin Stripe

Currently my car doesn't have a pin stripe. I've found the correct colour required and intend buying the masking tape with a removable centre to get a good hand painted finish.

Can anyone tell me the correct width for the stripe and whether the ends (on bonnet and rear wings) are straight or tapered.

Width approx 1/8" - and yes should taper off at the ends, but only slightly!

Forgot to ask, does the pin stripe sit centrally on the raised area or along the top?

It was done by hand - hence the slight taper at the ends as the craftsman lifted away the brush! No masking tape used !!

I'd love to paint the stripe without tape but I think you have hit the problem on the head when you use the word 'craftsman'.
