Fitted the new engine and whist turning it over with the plugs out the battery died so i changed it, after changing it, when i turn the key it just makes a click noise and nothing happens
And a few months ago i had the same problem managed to bump start the car drove it round and it seemed to fix itself
The starter motor its self is about 18 months old
Any ideas
Cheers tom

Has the starter jammed in gear while you were "turning over & the battery died"?
When you try now & it "just clicks", do the lights dim showing that current is being drawn by the starter?

Recheck the battery connections, try jumping it from the other battery, or another car.

Sounds like bad connections - or duff battery. But do check the engine is free to turn before trying again!

There is sometimes an interference problem with the starter and the flywheel when fitting a 1275.

As long as the engine isn't jammed - it must be battery/connections/starter problem!

well checked every connection and changed the battery and still just a click, took the motor off to see if it was jammed and still just a click,
does this mean the started is dead
cheers tom

Clamp it in a vice - and try it with jump leads from a good battery.

Sticking (or worn out) brushes - strip and replace.
