Balancing beads?

I've just found a couple of references to balancing beads being used in tyres rather than the usual lead weights that they put on in the tyre places. As this would eliminate damage to the nicely painted wheels from the lead weights and allow DIY mechanics to fit their own tyres I was wondering whether anyone on the forum is using them and what their experiences are?

Thanks,

Philip

Does they seem to good to be true?

Do they reduce fuel consumption AND make you more attractive to women?

Unless they do both, I wouldn't bother with them.

you could test theory by putting cricket balls in your washing machine and doing a spin cycle!

With that theory it would be cheaper to repaint your wheels every year than have to buy a new washng machine!

Some modern washing machines already use a similar system
