Hi everybody, I,m new here,I shall go in a couple of days to the U.K. to get my MM 1000 from 1971 and I will drive it
back to Spain .
I do not like very much the steering wheel of that model and I would like to know if it can be changed to the former one.

(I mean this one on the picture)

Thank you/Miguel

Yes the steering wheel will fit the later car but make sure you get the correct centre cap with horn push.

It is indeed a much nicer wheel - just make sure if you buy one that the rim is in good condition - and the spokes are nice and tight - and as above - you need the matching horn push.
Be sure to show us pictures of the car - and good luck with the drive back to Spain!

Try a post in the wanted section. If you look at the hub of your wheel between the spokes there should be a small hole. The correct horn push should have a brass post with a screw thread. The horn push is held in place with a screw through the hole into the post

This is what the horn push looks like.

Mark,
It's very easily done. The crash pad is just dense foam pipe lagging from the DIY and covered with red leatherette. My wife made the end bits. A yard of material is enough and just do it in the colour of your choice.
