Exhaust manifold

At the Lancs. mechanics day we were having valuations done, so I had the Tourer valued.
It has a 1300 engine with a twin outlet manifold going into at standard sized SS pipe.
The valuer suggested that this system is not the best & that performance would benefit from a 3 branch extractor manifold & a larger bore pipe.
I see that Moss have such a system but the price, for both manifold & pipe is over £300!
Anyone know of a cheaper source?
Thanks
Chris

The difference would be tiny.......the twin branch manifold is actually surprisingly efficient. He's right of course - if you were chasing every last bhp for a high performance engine. Would be interesting to know the identity of this 'valuer' expert!

The true value of any car/thing can only be established when it is offered in an open auction by a willing seller to willing buyers.... We call it EBAY!

Oh yes, I utterly agree, Roy.
Anything is only worth what someone will pay for it.
The valuer (& there are a number of them, I believe) is an MMOC valuer & the idea of the valuation session was to enable agreement to be more easily reached between MMOC members & insurers as to what would be payed out in the event of a claim.
All understood on the business of the exhaust manifold..it would be a very small return for that sort of money.
Looking ahead, 'cos it will need replacing sooner or later , I've not been able to find a source of twin branch downpipes anywhere so far.
So any guidance there would be gratefully received.
The twin downpipes combine & go into a SS pipe.
By the way, the engine is running extremely well now, since a friend gave me a Gunson Testune & I was able to read RPM and so accurately set ignition advance.
regards
Chris

Good to hear it's running well - but honestly - no need for fancy instruments to get the ignition timing spot-on!
