Brake Pedal Spring ?

I have read everything I can find.... looked at loads of exploded drawings and still have no idea where the spring on the brake pedal should be.
I have'nt got one at all and can feel the brakes dragging as the pedal takes a while to return fully to the top. So, can anyone supply a drawing, description, clue ?????
In addition, is there supposed to be something similar on the clutch ? Where ?
Thanks !!

the clutch spring goes from the bottom of the pedal and hooks through a hole where the engine and gearbox meet. Get under the car behind the front drivers side wheel and have a look around.
The brake pedal spring goes somewhere in the front chassis member if i am correct. Im not entirely sure what it connects to though

The brake pedal spring is at the front of the master cilinder in the front chassis member, from the end of the pedal to a "hook" in the front chassis member. And it's hard to get it there

As stated the spring is forward of the master cylinder in the
chassis member. It is difficult to hook the spring on to the
'eye' which is welded to the chassis floor. You could try making
a groove in an old flat bladed screwdriver and using this to push
the end of the spring into position. If the 'eye' has rotted away
then weld a nut there to act as a hook for the spring. While you
have them exposed take time to oil the brake and clutch pivots.
