Mark Webber

Oh dear - Mark didn't do too well in the qualifying for the final race today........ I just hope the 'Team' didn't turn his engine down slightly......... :o He did say he 'just couldn't get the pace' and looked very fed up. I don't really care who wins the Championship - as long as it's not the 'wee twerp' ! And of course - if Alonso wins by less than 7 points - he needs to look long and hard at his ethics. Will be an interesting race tomorrow!

I don't mind - as long as Alonso wins by more than 7 points - then he will deserve it. He's not got the fastest car (cf Massa) but he is making the very best of it. I had a wee chat with him about it a couple of months ago when I met him in Tenerife.[frame]Image[/frame]

Which one is you there Roy
I'm betting that Alonso, The Wee Twerp and Webber will take each other off in the first corner and Lewis will Romp home

Not a bad race I feel. I'm glad to see Alonso not getting it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr. But I suppose - on reflection - it's better to see the title won fair and square, rather than by Alonso being 'gifted' 7 points to make him the winner. And - I dare say Vettel doesn't seem quite so 'twerpy' now - he has matured over the year. He and Red Bull certainly deserve their titles - and Ferrari the wooden spoon for that bad call with the tyres.........

Hello all,

a nice new track super facilities but it made for processional 'racing'. What is with these new tracks; much maligned Silverstone at least seems to give good racing, which is all I want? The other point with new tracks is the large run off areas which they can just drive off the race track with no penalty. If they were gravel at least there would be more of a penalty for not keeping it on the track?

I agree completely Alec....... if it hadn't been the 'final' it would have been an extremely boring race.

I think Mark Webber should have won, he has improved alot but it also helped that he has had an excellent car this season. I felt quite sorry for him at the end, he seemed really deflated and he'll have to put up with the rest of the team celebrating when he knows he could have had so much more himself. We'll see what sort of car Red Bull come up with next year and if Webber really has come on.

Twerp or not, Vettel is an excellent driver and deserved the title IMHO. I think he has managed to improve the reputation of German drivers more in one year than anyone else ever did.

I felt very sorry for Weber, but considering he's too big and heavy to be an F1 driver it is amazing how well he drove this year - taking the championship battle to the last race is a massive credit for a guy who has appeared to be an average ranking driver for so many years.

Also some credit to Button - people had forgotten him recently but he earned another podium, and could probably have finished ahead of Hamilton this time if the team hadn't held him back a bit.

As for Alonso - I know he is an excellent driver, but with the cheated 7 points, I wouldn't have been happy to see him get it. We had enough dirty trick in the Schumi years and Ferrarri seem to be happy to keep this bad reputation. During the race I think the move to cover Weber pitting was classic, getting him stuck behind a Renault for 2/3rds of the race - justice was served.

Certainly not this coming year! Would be interesting to see him in a Red Bull though - against Vettel. Amazing that Barichello has retained his seat for next year..... and Hulk******** is out. And as for that prat Luizi .............
