Hi all,

should there be spacers fitted on the studs that hold the grill top chrome strip in place ?

Genuine original chrome bar: no
New part from UK: yes (in my experience).

Without spacers, it sat too close to the panel & didn't match up with the hockey sticks.

I agree with the above answer. I used some old brass manifold nuts as spacers and don't overtighten.
