Decided to spary paint the radiator grill and the wheels a new coat of cream but just before buying the paint I realized there were acrylic and non-acrylic types. Which should I be using? I have a 1962 2 door.
Thanks

Neither. Cellulose paint is the original paint used on minors and this is easily available from all Minor specialists and paint suppliers.
I think you might mean Old English White. It does have a hint of cream. Codes are (BMC) WT3, (ICI) 2379. Even Halfords do it. Look under Rover, it's called Arum White (Old English White).
Happy spraying !

That was the colour that i was looking to buy. But it did not say anywhere on the can anything abouit acrylic or non-acrylic, nevermind cellulose!
Would this Arum white in Halfords which I was looking at be suitable then?
Thanks

The Halfords Arum White paint looked quite good on my wheels. It certainly seems to be cellulose as it looked nice and shiny (after spraying on a dry day).

Great, I will pick some up tommorow, also should I try and remove all of the paint before applying primer or just the rusty bits?
Thanks

Depends if you want Concours perfection or just want to smarten up the overall look. Any new paint sprayed over rusty patches will show, even if you carefully remove the rust. However, it will still look far better. I used Halfords white primer.
Perfection would require grit blasting the wheels, a coat of etch primer, several coats of filler primer and several coats of cellulose to achieve a good finish.
