Ruddy Parcel Force!

Sorry, need to vent!

I made 2 fairly substantial orders from one of the major traders on Sunday 16th and I've still not recieved one of them! I should have had it on the 18th. According to the trader in question the two orders were apparently on the same van and I should have recieved both. They've given me the parcel force tracking number which reveals nothing apart from my parts leaving their Worcester Depot.

I've rung the trader 4 times now and each time I get told they will ring parcel force and let me know. Not that they ever do! I'm currently waiting for them to call me back (again) but I'm not holding my breath. I know its not the suppliers fault that parcel force have stuffed it up but their lack of interest in getting it sorted is on the cusp of losing them a customer here. I have always praised this trader for their prompt & efficient service in the past and thats what makes this doubly annoying!

I dont know what I'm going to do if the parts arent with me by thursday, but its not going to be pretty as far as the trader is concerned....

Incidentally, the other order (which I dont need as urgently) arrived on time and parcel force will only deal with the sender.

I'm not blaming them for parcel force Roy. These things happen. What I am frankly ****ed off with is their complete and utter lack of caring.

I sell on ebay and used to use parcelforce until they made an almighty cock a doodle diddley up of a delivery and failed to communicate with me. The customer lived in central London, his parcel was returned to me with incomplete address written on it. Contacted customer who had lived in the same building for 30 years and so knew his address, parcel force insisted it was incomplete ! used DHL who delivered to the right address straight away (same one parcel force could not find) I contacted parcelforce for a refund and could not believe there attitude. I now use parcel to go and have so far had no problems with them.

Heres the communications

Dear Parcelforce.

After attempting again to contact you regarding this parcel I was passed to the depot, followed by recorded messages/music and then a dead line. So lets try an email.

This parcel was out for collection on 25th March. You failed miserably to find the mans address despite him living there for the last 30 years, I assume this isn't the first parcel you have delivered to him, it was returned to me with a scrawled non delivery reason which was only partly decipherable as insufficient address details.

I rang weds and talked to a most unhelpfull man who made it out to be my customers fault for living at an awkward address ! I was then rung back sometime later and a collection was arranged for thurs 1st April. I have been working away all weekend and was amazed to see the parcel still where I had left it on my return today.

As this has now gone on too long I am arranging for DHL to deliver the parcel and expect a full refund, I will also have to consider my choice of carrier in future, I have been using parcelforce for 4 years and it would be a shame for you to lose my business because of your poor communications.

Regards Nigel Robinson

Dear Mr Nigel Robinson

Thank you for your enquiry.

May I apologise to you for the inconvenience caused as a result of this issue. I appreciate how disappointing it can be when a parcel does not arrive as expected.

According to our records the address for delivery was

*********London

I have checked the Royal Mail address system and it appears the address you put on the parcel is not the full correct address for delivery and this has caused the problem.

The addresses below are what are listed for postcode W1U 2RE. It is the senders responsibility to ensure the full correct address is on the parcel, as the full address was not on the parcel you would not be able to claim a refund

The listed addresses for that code are
*********************
*********************

If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us again at this email address : parcelforce@parcelforce.co.uk .

Our hours of business are: Mon to Fri: 8am to 7pm and Sat: 8:30am to 12:30pm

Kind regards

Andrew Metcalfe
Parcelforce Worldwide
Customer Service Email team

Dear Andrew

Thank you for your non comital reply which to me looks like it was cut and pasted from a general list of things to say to a disgruntled customer without actually having to read the content of the original mail. It says nothing of the difficultys I have had contacting you.

Its funny that DHL had absolutely no problem finding it using exactly the same address details isn't it!

Consider this the end of my dealings with parcelforce I was only sending 3 to 7 parcels a week so obviously I am not important enough a customer for you to worry about losing. I expect a full refund of the original parcelforce charge of £11.99 either to my paypal account (**********@hotmail.com) or by cheque.

Hmm, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Ordered a front wheel bearing from a well known supplier and waited ten days. Nothing. I contacted them and they said they had sent it, but offered to send a second one. They did, and it arrived three days later. I'm curious to know if it was the same supplier - can you PM me the name of the company, Dan?

i had a similar problem with esm few months back.. they put a parcel on parcel force only for it to go missing.. at this point the story is totally different.. i called them at 5.30 pm they promised to look at in the morning and get back to me after that.. following morning at 9.15 i got a call to say parcel force were not being helpful so they would send me a replacement parcel straight away, were very sorry about the delay.. i spoke to them a couple of week ago and the parcel had finally arrived back with them.

It wasn't ESM dennis so going to the Gatwick sorting office won't help at all!

Might be a run road trip though

As it is, I spoke to the supplier in question and they have promised me that I will have the parts tomorrow (I wont hold my breath at this point) but what has REALLY got my goat is the apathy displayed by the member of staff I've wound up speaking each time. No apology, no empathy and a whole bundle of excuses as to why nothings been done.

I know Parcel Force cocked up but, it is still the suppliers/senders responsibility to chase a lost item. Items are insured, the supplier will be reimbursed, therefore they shouldn't hesitate either re-sending your order or finding it! They should look at changing their carrier.
