I need a new dizzy, and from reading previouse posts it seem's you can get a 25d4 dizzy from simon bbc quite a bit cheaper than a new lucas one and has been recomended by quite a few members, but i am a bit confused by some of the post that say 45d dizzy's... Are these one's for 1275 or are they a better upgrade for a 1098 cc which i have ?

Re: Dizzy Confusion
45's will directly fit where a 25 used to be. They are a "newer" version if you like. The only bit they don't have is the vernier timing adjuster but they are reported to be a better dizzy to make up for the loss.....

Later design with improvements -and cheaper to buy! Simon doesn't seem to have any at the moment - but another Co " accu-spark " I think have them on ebay and still at a bargain price.

Re: Dizzy Confusion
I'v just replaced my dist and wondered why the workshop manual tells you to go to all the faff of finding TDC on No 1 pot, lining up the rotor arm etc etc when the spigot on the drive is offset so it can only go in one way and not 180 degrees out as suggested by Mr Haynes

Re: Dizzy Confusion
You can get the dizzy 180 deg out but it depends on what extent you have the engine stripped down to. For just changing the dizzy its not really necessary to faff about - Oh, and don't belive everything you read in Haynes manuals
