Can you value my moggie?

Hiya
I just wanted to say hello and ask for some advice. I have a moggie minor in my garage that I have owned since 1991. I was left the car in a will and have little real knowledge about it.
It's a 1953-54 split screen, in original battle ship grey, red leather interior with less than 30k on the clock!!. She has split screen windows, the old valve radio and trafficators on the bottom of the doors on each side. The car is in really good condition and passed it's last MOT with only a minor issue with the handbrake cable. This car is a real head turner. I'm going to post some pictures soon... but my question is how much is she worth? Oh also I'm based in st neots and this is I think 800cc engine.
The reason I'm asking is that soon I'm going to be moving house and I will no longer have the space.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks
Katie

Hi Katie.
I'm afraid to say that its a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" type question. I'm no expert on the earlier cars so will refrain from comment until those with a bit more nous appear but photos may help us to give you an idea

from what i can gather, a moggy is worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for one.
for example, think of a fair price you would pay for one of a certain standard and someone else will probably pay same.
moggys go for anthing from £50 to many thousands of pounds.

Looks tidy.
"passed it's last MOT" When was that?
Low thousands I'd suggest.

Very nice car. I would think around £2500 should get some serious interest although could be more on the right day

If it is mechanically as good as the bodywork then it will be a very nice car for someone, one of those cars that now and again turn up. The Series 11s appeal to a different market to the M1000. If you really must sell it and you are sure that in future years you are not going to look back and realise tha you made a big mistake then I would try for £3000 + with a fresh MOT and not accept much below £3000.
The car appears to have been fitted with a 948 or 1098 engine and box, the engine size will be on the engine block behind the exhaust manifold, 950 or a plate with 1100. The engine no on a strip below no 1 plug will start with 8, 9 or 10
I already have 2 Minors so I can't collect any more.

Lovely looking car but you will have to sort out the number plates before you sell it!!!

How do you know from those pictures, Mike?
You can't see the engine or gearbox!

You can see the gearstick in the 3rd one down!! Its not the big long straight one fitted to the S11 cars but the short handy one on the 1000s

Ok boys!! I'm not a petrol head.
But here is a picture of the engine:

In addition it say on my V5C that it's an 800cc engine and the number is APHM/11869.
Does that tell you anything useful?

The 800cc listed would refer to the original 803cc engine.
That has clearly been fiddled with some (pancake filter was never standard and theres lots of non standard bright coloured wires) My (non expert) guess is that you have a 948 fitted. Is there a number on the engine? (Should be on a riveted plate just in front of the first spark plug)
