Hi all,

how do the rear boot floor support brackets for a traveller go together?
I think there should a spacer to allow the spare wheel cover to be fitted.

here is a picture of the area I'm talking about[frame]Image[/frame]

does anyone have a picture showing how it goes? or size info for the spacer ?

cheers
Moray

There is (or there should be) a bracket on each wheel arch that supports the boot floor, the area you have pictured is the bracket that connects the boot floor to the corner pillar, there should be a wooden spacer between the bracket and pillar. That seems to be missing between the bracket pictured and corner post.

Thanks for the reply, do you know the size and shape of the missing wooden spacer ?

When I re-built the traveller on that side I just used the rotten original as a template to make the new one out of an off cut of ply from the local DIY shop (soaked in cuprinol before fitting of course!).

Whoever re-built the car should hav edone something simmilar!

from memory the car was missing the spacers before it went to the body shop.
what thickness ply did you use ? would 10mm be ok ?
