Does anyone know the fate of the three "crated reconditioned Morris Minor sidevalve engines" that formed part of the large online aution of Brian Boys (Rossendale, Lancs) military vehicles and other items that took place on Wednesday? I know that one club member was going to the viewing but have'nt seen him since then. Anyone got one?

Have since been told that a version of the MM engine was used as auxilliary power in some tanks of the period. Can anyone confirm this? If this was the case I would expect that the engines were likeley to be from this source taking the military surplus content of the auction into consideration.

I currently have an ex WD engine installed in my car. There is an item on the engine on the Series MM notice board under Tech Info, Ex WD Generator Engines

If these engines are ex army, as were the large number advertised some years ago in Australia, check them out carefully, they were used in many cases, damaged in some. The army "engineers" were obviously well trained at their jobs

Definately used with plenty of carbon deposits but should be on standard bore as the army always re sleeved them to save on parts storage
