Fitting Seat Belts

My 1956 Series II has no seat belts fitted and I was wondering if I should remedy this. What is the general opinion of owners please? Do you take a chance and leave things as original or consider the safety aspect more important. I definitely would feel safer with three point static Britax belts (if I could get them).

Many thanks,

Richard.

We fitted them in the Series II we restored for our Daughter. If depends on what price you put on your life. Keeping safe or originality of the car. Personally the first choice always. I fit safety belts in all our cars a soon as we get them.

Our 1960 Convertible had no seat belts when I bought it, and incidentally also only had trafficators that weren't working.

It felt odd driving without seatbelts! I fitted rear seatbelts first to protect the kids. I followed this with front ones shortly after.

I agree that safety should be the no. 1 concern. If you can fit static belts to look more original that would be good.[frame]Image[/frame]

I fitted front belts to my Mini back in the 60's but this time I will use E.S.M. in Stonegate, Sussex to fit them for me. They are very helpful and even told me where I can buy classic type belts (from http://www.quickfitsbs.com/).

I'd like to fit seat belts to my Minor also. What's the best way to install them? Just bolt them to the floor, or should they be bolted to the seat carriage? I have non-original seats already, so I'm going for safety and practicality instead of originality. Thanks!

Does anyone know where else apart from quickfitbs that I can buy some static seat belts that are authentic with nice chrome buckles ?
